Adult Ministry

Equipped for the Journey

Whether our walk with God begins as children, youth, young adults or at a later age, participation beyond Sunday morning corporate worship is an important part of growing in spiritual maturity. For adults, Trinity offers a number of options for spiritual formation and accountability.

In addition to Adult Sunday School Classes and Small Groups, which most all churches offer, Methodists uniquely also participate in Discipleship Bands and House Fellowships. Click on the tabs below to learn more about those. Ultimately, we see deeply committed members participating in either a Sunday School class or Small Group (though many do both!) as well as a band.

Discipleship Bands

A Discipleship Band is neither a traditional small group nor a typical accountability group. Rather, it’s a very small and intimate group of 3 to 5 individuals who read scripture together, pray together and meet together to become the love of God for one another and the world.

House Fellowship

House Fellowships are gatherings of a dozen or so people, held in a home over a meal, for the purpose of forming intimate relationships, caring for one another, and helping each other grow in our relationship with God. House Fellowships are admittedly a new focus for Trinity (though not new to Methodists!), so that is a developing ministry at this time. We are excited to see how God will use it for our continuing formation.

Special Events

In addition to ongoing activities, Trinity offers a number of special groups and events throughout the year.

Our Women’s Ministry hosts Abide, a quarterly meeting on a Sunday evening for women of all ages to gather together for worship and a message delivered by various women from the congregation or community. Women in the church will also meet for short term studies or prayer meetings throughout the year—including Women of the Word and United Women in Faith—and often gather to attend women’s conferences and retreats together.

Our Men’s Ministry hosts events throughout the year for men of all ages to gather for community building and worship. Beast Feast and a Summer Fish Fry are events where men gather for food and fellowship. Like the women, men will also gather for various short term studies, such as BetterMan, or to attend conferences and retreats.

Throughout the year, the church hosts special events for Moms & Dads and Families. One such event is The Table, a quarterly gathering held on a Sunday evening for families to gather together for worship and a message delivered by various speakers. Keep an eye on Sunday bulletins and our weekly email events list for news of these and other events.

Senior Adults at Trinity are celebrated for their longstanding contributions and example to our faith community. We offer those members—generally considered 60 plus—various opportunities to gather for fellowship, such as Lunch and Games, a monthly noontime meal followed by card and board games.

Oftentimes, our faith journey is helped with one-on-one counseling from either a pastor or trained counselor. Trinity offers both Pastoral Care & Christian Counseling for those experiencing a time of hardship or in need for deep, one-on-one spiritual guidance. Inquire with a pastor or the church office if this would be helpful for you, your marriage or your family.
